How to ensure quick processing of shipments

Ensure that the documentation reflects precise information of the commodity imported/exported

For Customs purposes a faxed copy of the commercial invoice and bill of lading would be required.
To Avoid unnecessary delays and consequently additional costs, the following information must be furnished as a pre-requisite to having vehicles customs cleared: chassis number, engine number, year of manufacture, colour, make and model.

The original/negotiable bill of lading is to be made available prior to the vessel's arrival in order to obtain physical delivery of the cargo and to avoid any storage charges incurring.
Processing time at Customs may take up to 48 hours, it is there-fore vitally important that documents are faxed immediately that they are available, preferably at least five days prior to the vessel's arrival and the originals not later than the arrival date. This would ensure that storage/demurrage charges are avoided/minimised.
